On May 6, a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement between Nanjing University and Sinopec was held in Beijing. Present at the signing ceremony were Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Hou Qijun, Chairman and Party Secretary of Sinopec.
Tan Tieniu introduced the historical evolution and basic development of NJU. He pointed out that in recent years, NJU has placed great importance on university-enterprise cooperation and has made every effort to promote the transfer and transformation of scientific research achievements. NJU has a deep-rooted relationship with Sinopec, laying a solid foundation for cooperation. Looking to the future, both sides have broad prospects for collaboration. Tan Tieniu expressed the hope that NJU and Sinopec would take this signing as a new starting point to further engage in joint efforts in major technological challenges, platform co-construction, joint talent cultivation and sharing, and cadre training, thereby jointly playing a greater role in the nation's strategic scientific and technological strength.
Hou Qijun welcomed Tan Tieniu and his delegation on behalf of Sinopec. He introduced the basic situation of Sinopec and pointed out that Sinopec will continue to focus on basic research and the transformation of innovative achievements, offering vast cooperation opportunities with NJU. Hou Qijun stated that for a long time, NJU has provided a large number of outstanding talents to Sinopec, and both sides have engaged in comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in many fields. He expressed hope that through this signing, both parties would further deepen practical cooperation, innovate cooperation methods, and jointly promote the integration of industry, academia, and research to reach new heights.
Zheng Hairong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Executive Vice President of NJU, and Academician of the CAS, and Tian Hongbin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of Sinopec, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides.
Representatives at the meeting engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges regarding specific cooperation matters. Li Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Assistant President of NJU, along with heads of relevant departments and colleges of the university, attended the signing ceremony.
