The Second Plenary Session of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was convened at the Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of the 7th. Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the session. Fourteen members of the CPPCC National Committee delivered speeches at the plenary meeting.
Wu Zhenglong, State Councillor and Secretary-General of the State Council, along with responsible officials from relevant departments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, were invited to attend the session and listen to the speeches.
Zhou Zhihua, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice-President of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a statement on behalf of the non-partisan sector, proposing recommendations entitled "Driving Paradigm Shifts in Scientific Research Through Artificial Intelligence." He advocated optimising the coordinated planning of scientific research within the AI domain, establishing a composite innovation talent cultivation system, promoting the dismantling of disciplinary barriers, constructing cross-disciplinary "bidirectional translation" and collaborative mechanisms, and strengthening data governance – thereby harnessing artificial intelligence to spearhead transformative shifts in scientific research paradigms.
