From March 19 to 20, 2026, the Symposium on AI-Driven Public Management Practice and MPA Curriculum Development was held at Nanjing University. The conference was hosted by the National MPA Education Steering Committee and organized by the School of Government, Nanjing University. Zheng Hairong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing University Committee and Vice President of NJU, Yan Jinming, General Secretary of the National MPA Education Steering Committee, attended the opening ceremony.

Zheng Hairong stated that artificial intelligence has become a powerful engine driving the transformation and upgrading of various industries, profoundly changing social governance models. Nanjing University is actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of MPA education oriented toward artificial intelligence. Through initiatives such as establishing the "AI + Public Governance" Laboratory, the University is building a teaching and research platform that deeply integrates technology and governance.

Yan Jinming pointed out that the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, represented by artificial intelligence, is profoundly reshaping the practice of public management, driving governance models to shift from experience-driven to data-driven and human-machine collaborative approaches.

During the conference, experts including Meng Qingguo, Member of the National E-Governance Expert Committee, and Li Peng, Member of the National MPA Education Steering Committee, delivered reports on topics such as artificial intelligence applications in e-government and AI agent-driven MPA education practice. Representatives from Huawei and Onewo shared practical experiences in empowering urban governance with artificial intelligence.
Over 280 faculty members from more than 160 institutions nationwide attended the conference. The symposium provided new insights and approaches for the reform of MPA education in the era of artificial intelligence.
