Professor Hong Xiuping’s works published overseas successively

It has recently been announced that Professor Hong Xiuping from the School of Philosophy of Nanjing University has had his works published successively: the English version of A Brief History of Chinese Buddhism and Buddhist Thought, as well as the Russian version and the overseas traditional Chinese character version of The History of Buddhism in the Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties.

A Brief History of Chinese Buddhism and Buddhist Thought traces the Indian origins of Chinese Buddhism and Buddhist studies, and conducts a comprehensive exploration and analysis of the formation and development of localized Chinese Buddhism and Buddhist studies. The English version of this book was officially published by Brill, a royal publishing house of the Netherlands.

The History of Buddhism in the Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties is one volume of the 11-volume The History of Chinese Buddhism, with Ji Xianlin and Tang Yijie serving as the chief editors. The Russian version of the book was officially published by the Oriental Book Publishing House of Russia; meanwhile, its overseas traditional Chinese character version was published and distributed by Songye Culture Press of Taiwan, China.

In recent years, Nanjing University has been striving to promote "academic global outreach" with high-quality academic achievements as the carrier. Professor Hong Xiuping has previously had many works published overseas and also published a number of academic papers in English, Japanese, Korean, Russian and other languages. These academic achievements help promote Chinese academia to the world and enable the world to understand more about the excellent traditional Chinese culture and Chinese academia.
