On February 2, 2024, the first meeting of the Leadership Group for the Construction and Development of NJU Suzhou Campus was held at the Suzhou Conference Center. The meeting reviewed the progress of the university’s collaboration with Suzhou in 2023, and discussed the goals, tasks, and key initiatives for the new phase of construction and development of NJU Suzhou campus. Leaders from Suzhou Municipal Government and NJU attended the meeting.
During the meeting, NJU and the Suzhou Municipal Government jointly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Accelerating Support for the Construction and Development of NJU Suzhou Campus. The meeting also witnessed the unveiling ceremony for two research platforms, as well as the establishment of two schools, the School of Energy and Resources and the School of Advanced Sciences.
Liu Xiaotao, Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, expressed gratitude to NJU for its long-standing support in the development of Suzhou. Liu also encouraged various innovative platforms of NJU to strengthen collaborative innovation with local institutions and leading enterprises.
Tan Tieniu, Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support of the Suzhou Municipal Government towards NJU Suzhou campus. He expressed the hope that future cooperation will focus on creating a renowned campus, and promoting the integrated development of education and technology.
