On May 16, the Ministry of Education's 2026 "Hundred Universities Students Local Tour" was officially launched at Nanjing University, accompanied by the Nanjing Hundred Universities Recruitment Tour (Nanjing University Special Session) event. The event was attended by Zhou Hongbo, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee; Li Zhongjun, Mayor of Nanjing; Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS; Yu Weiyue, Director of the Center for Student Services and Development, Ministry of Education; and Li Baiping, Deputy Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department.
Tan Zhemin pointed out that Nanjing has provided NJU with excellent educational resources, abundant innovation opportunities, and broad platforms for collaboration. Rooted in Jiangsu and based in Nanjing, NJU has always regarded talent cultivation as the foundation of the institution. It focuses on the major strategic needs of the country and the developmental needs of Jiangsu, striving to build a high-level integrated system of "admissions-training-employment." Tan Zhemin expressed that NJU will work together with all sectors to establish a collaborative platform for resource sharing, complementary advantages, and mutual benefits, aiming to improve the quality of talent cultivation, strengthen the supply of high-quality talents, and inject robust talent momentum into serving national strategic needs and advancing the new practices of Chinese modernization in Jiangsu and Nanjing.
During the event, the Nanjing Municipal People's Government signed a cooperation agreement with the Jiangsu Education Department and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jiangsu Province. The event also featured the promotion of Nanjing's youth talent policies and the official release of the "Explore Nanjing" PASS Card for university students. After the opening ceremony, participating leaders visited the recruitment fair, youth gathering, and observed the recording of the preliminary round of the "Youth Innovation+" program.
