On April 7, Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), led a team to China Minmetals Corporation and Tsinghua Unigroup for research and discussions on deepening school-enterprise collaboration and promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research. Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Li Bin, Chairman of Tsinghua Unigroup, along with Co-President Chen Jie, attended the discussions.
At China Minmetals, Tan Tieniu expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the university for the care and support from China Minmetals towards NJU. He introduced the basic situation of NJU from various aspects, including its historical evolution, the development pattern of "one university, two cities, four campuses," discipline construction, talent cultivation, technological innovation, and team building. Tan pointed out that China Minmetals remains committed to its original mission of "serving the country through mining and strengthening the nation through mining," adhering to its strategic positioning as "the national team for resource security and the main force for new services," and insisting on innovation. With a solid industrial foundation, strong technological capabilities, a complete industrial chain, and immense development potential, it has achieved results that stand the test of history. In recent years, NJU has thoroughly implemented the important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter of repl, achieving fruitful results and showcasing strengths in fields such as geology, environment, artificial intelligence, and new energy materials. Chen Dexin introduced the development history of China Minmetals, the basic situation of its industry sectors, including metal mining, metallurgy construction, technological industry, trade logistics, financial capital, and real estate development, as well as the five distinct characteristics of "resource-based, main business composite, structurally diverse, multinational operation, and super-large joint ventures." Chen pointed out that NJU has a long history and profound cultural heritage, focusing on serving national strategies and accelerating high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength, demonstrating the responsibilities of higher education institutions. For a long time, China Minmetals has maintained a good cooperative relationship with NJU, achieving a series of landmark cooperative results. He expressed hope that both sides could further focus on the construction of scientific research and development platforms, enhance platform research capabilities, tackle major technological challenges, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and build talent teams, continuously deepening school-enterprise cooperation to make new and greater contributions to the comprehensive advancement of national strength and the great rejuvenation of the nation.

The representatives at the meeting engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on specific cooperation matters, including technological challenges, platform construction, talent cultivation, cadre training, and international exchange and cooperation.
During the research visit, Tan Tieniu and his delegation visited the China Minmetals Metallurgical Technology Achievements Exhibition and watched a promotional video about China Minmetals.
In the afternoon, Tan Tieniu and his delegation arrived at Tsinghua Unigroup. In his speech, Tan pointed out that NJU has made significant contributions to the development of higher education and scientific endeavors in China over its more than 120 years of development. He introduced the basic situation of NJU's discipline construction, talent cultivation, team building, scientific research innovation, and campus construction. Tan emphasized that in recent years, NJU has placed great importance on the development of new engineering disciplines, focusing on major national strategic needs and striving to contribute the wisdom and strength of NJU to solve "bottleneck" problems. He noted that the university has a solid foundation and outstanding advantages in fields such as integrated circuits, electronic information, chip technology, artificial intelligence, new materials, and automation, which offers broad prospects for cooperation with Tsinghua Unigroup. He expressed hope that NJU and Tsinghua Unigroup could engage in comprehensive cooperation in areas such as tackling technological challenges, talent cultivation, the integration of industry and academia, and cadre training, working together to achieve new breakthroughs and reach new heights in development.

Ma Hui, Deputy Director of the Innovation Business Center at New Ziguang Group, introduced the basic situation of the group's industrial development, as well as the four capability systems of chips, ICT, artificial intelligence, and technology finance.
