Recently, the All-China Women's Federation held a commemorative event in Beijing to mark International Women's Day and honour outstanding individuals and collectives. Among the honourees, Professor Huang Xin from the School of Atmospheric Sciences at Nanjing University was awarded the title of "National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter".

Dr. Huang Xin, a full professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University, specializes in numerical simulations of the atmospheric environment. She has published over 100 academic papers in international journals such as Science, National Science Review, Science Bulletin, Nature Geoscience, Nature Communications, Science Advances, and PNAS, which have been cited more than 10,000 times. Her research outputs have been listed as ESI Hot Papers and Highly Cited Papers. Her work has also been recognized by numerous prestigious programs, including China's Top 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers, the Outstanding Achievements of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China's Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Ecology and Environment, and China's Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Meteorology. Professor Huang has served as associate editor or editorial member of multiple academic journals, including Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, National Science Review, Science Bulletin, Meteorological Applications, etc. She has been honored with numerous awards, including the Special Award of the China Youth Science and Technology Award (2024) and the National Outstanding Young Meteorological Scientist Award (2018). She has also been recognized as a National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars grantee (2023) and a National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars grantee (2019) and has been listed as a Highly Cited Scientist by Clarivate since 2022.
National March 8th Red-Banner Bearer Pacesetters and March 8th Red-Banner Bearers (Collective) represent the highest honour conferred by the All-China Women's Federation upon outstanding women.
