On January 22, Wu Hanjie and Wu Zhidan, the grandnieces of Wu Jianxiong, a distinguished alumnus of Nanjing University and a world-renowned physicist, visited the Gulou campus. Wu Hanjie is a director of the Wu Zhongyi Scholarship Foundation in New York and honorary principal of Mingde School. Shi Yi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of the Jianxiong Academy at Nanjing University, participated in the exchange, accompanied by Wen Yu, Member of the Stangding Committee of the CPC NJU Committee, Director of the Publicity Department, and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC NJU Committee.
At the Gulou campus library, Wu Hanjie and Wu Zhidan first visited the "Tribute to the 'Great Master' Series Exhibition: Approaching Wu Jianxiong." The guests admired the rich and vivid historical images and exhibits in the hall, listened attentively to the explanations, and occasionally recalled anecdotes from their parents' generation, deeply reminiscing about Mr. Wu Jianxiong's scientific spirit and masterful demeanor. Upon seeing unfamiliar biographies and photos, Ms. Wu Hanjie happily "revealed" the deep connection between her father and the former President Kuang Yaming.
In the School of Physics, Wu Hanjie and Wu Zhidan reviewed the century-long physics photo exhibition in the first-floor corridor and learned about the school's recent developments, including faculty, research platforms, education, and outstanding alumni. They highly praised the remarkable achievements of the physics discipline at NJU. After learning about Professor Du Lingjie's contributions to the country after studying abroad and winning one of China's top ten scientific advancements, Wu Hanxie frequently expressed admiration, hoping young scientists would continue to embody Wu Jianxiong's fearless courage and innovative spirit in pursuing truth.

Subsequently, Wu Hanjie and Wu Zhidan visited the iconic Beida Building at NJU and engaged in discussions with Academician Shi Yi and the faculty and students of the academy. Shi Yi briefly introduced the current development of Jianxiong Academy and the achievements in advancing new engineering construction at NJU. He especially mentioned that after completing their freshman year at the Gulou campus, academy students would transfer to the Suzhou campus to continue their studies and sincerely invited the guests to visit the beautiful modern new campus by Taihu Lake. The academy has always emphasized the inheritance of the "Great Master" spirit, with students actively participating in activities such as historical material collection and root-seeking visits. They also create plays based on Wu Jianxiong and use AI empowerment to deeply embed academy culture and the Jianxiong spirit. During the conversation, Wu Hanjie warmly inquired about the students' hobbies, how they balance academic pressure, and their views on "involution," highly praising the outstanding performance of NJU students: "Excellent education not only imparts knowledge but also teaches life lessons." She expressed high hopes for the future of the academy.
