On January 4, the first working day of the new year, the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal People's Government held a city-wide conference on Deep Integration of Technological and Industrial Innovation. The conference emphasized the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th Central Committee's fourth plenary session and General Secretary Xi Jinping's key speeches concerning Jiangsu's work. It called for the gathering of resources from government, industry, academia, research, and finance to focus on goals, take practical actions, and persistently work together to elevate Nanjing's industrial and technological innovation to new heights, providing new momentum for the start of the "15th Five-Year Plan". Municipal Party Secretary Zhou Hongbo delivered a speech. Acting Mayor Li Zhongjun chaired the conference. Attendees at this conference included Lyu Deming, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress; Wang Liping, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Li Baiping, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and academicians Zheng Lansun, Liu Yunjie, Zheng Hairong, and You Xiaohu.
At the conference, Nanjing University signed agreements with Xiamen University, China Academy of Engineering Physics, and China National Machinery Industry Corporation to collaborate on the construction of major scientific infrastructure for atomic-level manufacturing. This marks a substantial step forward in building a collaborative system for "production, academia, research, and application" in atomic-level manufacturing.

To serve national strategic needs and support the development of future industries and new quality productive forces, NJU is leading the advancement of major scientific infrastructure for atomic-level manufacturing. The focus is on core capabilities such as molecular and atomic-level creation, material atomic-level regulation, and device atomic-level processing, aiming to establish a comprehensive research platform for atomic-level manufacturing that is open and shared nationwide.
NJU adheres to the principles of "collaborative construction, open sharing, and demand-driven" and continues to refine the cooperative system layout for major scientific infrastructure in atomic-level manufacturing. The university will further implement cooperation agreements with Xiamen University, China Academy of Engineering Physics, China National Machinery Industry Corporation, and other entities. They will engage in substantial collaboration in areas such as basic research coordination, key materials and device research, engineering verification, platform co-construction, and talent cultivation. This will accelerate the formation of a stable and efficient collaborative innovation mechanism, providing strong support for national strategic needs and high-quality development.
