On November 22, Nanjing University and the Social Work Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee signed a cooperation framework agreement at NJU Xianlin Campus. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Tian Hong, Minister of the Social Work Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee attended the ceremony.
Tan welcomed the delegation, expressing heartfelt gratitude to social work departments at all levels of Jiangsu province for supporting NJU's development. He highlighted that NJU's commitment to serving the province, as evidenced by its Action Plan on Serving Jiangsu to Advance the New Practice of Chinese Modernization. Tan expressed his hope for continuous support from the Social Work Department and expectations for fruitful results from the cooperation between the two sides.
Tian stressed that the signing of the cooperation agreement and the joint establishment of the "Jiangsu Research Base for Social Work Theory and Practice" could leverage NJU's academic and educational resources to promote the high-quality development of social work in Jiangsu. He praised NJU's outstanding faculty resources and research capabilities in the discipline of social work. He also recognized NJU's pivotal role in advancing social work in Jiangsu and the country.
Ye Zhiyong, Vice Minister of the Social Work Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Zheng Hairong, Vice President of NJU and Academician of the CAS signed the cooperation agreement, witnessed by Tan and Tian.
