Recently, the Nanjing University Biomedical Industry Alumni Association annual conference and the "15th Five-Year Plan" strategic development seminar took place in Gulou District, Nanjing. Zheng Hairong, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC NJU Committee, Vice President of NJU, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Wang Anwei, Secretary of the CPC Gulou District Committee, Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU attended the event.
Zheng Hairong shared his insights on "Brain-Computer Interface and Biological Intelligence", proposing a framework for the interdisciplinary integration of brain-computer interface technology with medicine, diagnostics, electronics, physics, and artificial intelligence.
Wang Anwei stated that developing the biomedical industry is not only a strategic choice for Gulou District to cultivate new quality productive forces but also an essential path for the university and the local area to advance collaboratively.
Suo Wenbin noted that NJU is accelerating its layout in the biomedical field, preparing to establish the School of Pharmacy and developing a comprehensive support system for the field.
Guo Zijian, NJU professor and Academician of the CAS, and Jiao Ruihua, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council, attended the roundtable discussion themed "University-Industry Collaboration and Achievement Transformation."
Leveraging the resources of 18 universities, over 120 scientific research institutions, and abundant medical resources within its jurisdiction, Gulou District is collaborating with NJU to establish platforms such as the Brain-Computer Interface Research Institute, jointly building an innovation ecosystem that integrates talent and industry.
This event brought together over 200 participants, including academicians, scholars, and industry representatives from the biomedical field. It aimed to deepen collaborative efforts between the university and the local area while promoting innovation and translating research into practical applications in the biomedical industry.
