NJU students participate in Sino-Finnish Scientific Expedition to Finland

From August 3 to 12, 14 undergraduate students from NJU School of Atmospheric Sciences participated in a Sino-Finnish scientific expedition in Finland. This expedition, collaborating with the University of Helsinki's Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR), focused on studying ozone and new particle formation.

Prior to the trip, guided by Professor Wei Nie and Sijia Lou, the students prepared through literature reviews and data analysis. Upon arriving in Finland, the students engaged in discussions and presented their research at the SMEAR II station (Station for Measuring Ecosystem-Atmosphere Relations). They received high praise from Professor Markku Kulmala for their work.

In addition to their academic activities, the students visisted the University of Helsinki, the Finnish Meteorological Institute, and Vaisala, a leading global technology company in atmospheric science.

This expedition exposed the students to advanced technology, and showcased the importance of international collaboration in atmospheric and earth system research and education.
